How long will a battery keep my house running?+

Depends on your load and battery count. A single Powerwall 3 (13.5 kWh) will run essentials — fridge, router, some lights, a bedroom AC — for 8–14 hours. Two Powerwalls handle most 2,500 sq ft homes for a full day. We size based on your critical-load list and desired autonomy.

Can I add battery storage to my existing solar system?+

Yes. AC-coupled batteries like the Tesla Powerwall and Enphase IQ Battery retrofit to virtually any existing grid-tied solar system. We handle the inverter compatibility check, new production meter if needed, and interconnection update.

Do batteries work during a power outage?+

Absolutely — that's their primary job. When the grid goes down, the battery's gateway isolates your home and instantly begins supplying power. Most systems transfer in under a second, fast enough that electronics don't reboot.

How does peak shaving work for commercial buildings?+

We install a commercial battery system sized to your historical demand profile. The battery discharges during your peak usage windows, lowering your peak demand reading that the utility uses to calculate demand charges. Typical savings are 30–60% on the demand portion of the bill.

What maintenance does a battery system need?+

Very little. We recommend an annual inspection — thermal scan of connections, firmware update, capacity check — which we bundle into a low-cost maintenance plan. Most residential batteries are warrantied for 10 years and 70–80% capacity retention.
